What is gyukatsu?
Thick-cut quality beef loin, breaded and deep-fried for just 90 seconds — crispy outside, rose-pink medium-rare inside. A local favorite in the basement of Sun Plaza, Sannomiya.
Gyukatsu is Japan's beef answer to tonkatsu: quality beef loin coated in crisp panko and flash-fried, served medium-rare. Kobe is famous for luxurious teppanyaki dinners that can cost several times the price of gyukatsu — gyukatsu is the other way to enjoy beef in Kobe: quick, casual, and from ¥1,380. Dip each slice in our house-special demi-glace sauce passed down from a long-established hotel, Japanese grated-daikon ponzu, or rich teriyaki-egg sauce.

ENOur gyukatsu (beef cutlet) is served medium-rare, pink in the center. Children, elderly guests, pregnant women, and anyone feeling unwell are kindly asked to refrain from eating it.
